Drug addicts have excellent memory for their behaviors that result in drug intake. They become addicted because the drugs become associated with positive reward signals. Hypothesize how the anatomical structures you surveyed today work together as a network to mediate this outcome.
answers
drug addiction is one common social problem all over world . most common abused drugs includes alchohol , cocaine abuse , heroine abuse , .. these drugs will mainly affects our brain function and leads to various psychological effects . the problem with these drugs are addiction behavior(it is an illness caused by habitual substance abuse that induces chemical changes in the brain circuits . ) . these drugs interfere with the neurotransmtters release in brain , some drugs activates neurons because their chemical structure mimics that of natural chemical transmitter in body .
reward pathway of brain are involved in control of behavior and memory . this pathway connects to areas of brain that control behavior and memory, the pathway begins in ventral tegmental area and neurons here releases dopamine (mesolimbic pathway ), that make peoples feel pleasure . the brain begins to make connections between activity and pleasure , ensure that the person will repeat the behavior to get pleasure again. the nucleus acumbens is concerned with pleasure centre of brain. the dopamine producing neurons in the ventral tegmental area communicates with nucleus acumbens in order to evaluate reward and motivate us to obtain them. cocaine drug will decrease the reuptake of dopamine through blocking presynaptic dopamine transporter , ampetamine increases the release of diopamine from synaptic vesicles.
most drug abuse excert their initial reinforcing effects by activating reward circuits in brain, while initial drug experimentaion is volountary behavior . continued drug use impairs brain function by intrerfering with capacity to exert self control over drug taking behavior and rendering the brain more sensitive to stress and negetive moods .
