give 3 advantage to asexual reproduction explain the advantages of sexual reproduction, distinguish between definitions of haploid and diploid

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer. The 3 advantages of asexual reproduction are:

  • It requires one parent.
  • It makes the new individuals quite faster.
  • The offsprings formed by mitosis are identical to the parent.

The 3 advantages of sexual reproduction are:

  • It helps in bringing the variations.
  • It helps in combining the characters of two parents.
  • The offsprings formed through meiosis can acclimatize to the environment quite easily.

Haploid: The single set of chromosomes refers to the heploid condition. For example, a human sperm contain single set of chromosomes then to what present in the whole body. Human sperm has n number of chromosomes and its 23 and in human body 46 chromosomes. Gametic cells have haploid number of chromosomes.

Diploid: The double set of chromosomes means diploid condition or the 2n condition. Human beings have diploid lifecycle means in every cell of our body every cell has 23 pairs of chromosomes.

When each set of chromosomes has a pair of chromosome then it is diploid, and if each set has a single chromosome then the condition is haploid.
