Expert Solution

According to the Maslow's hierarchy of needs, an individual can go on to set his or her needs on the basis of where he or she might stand on the basic needs that have already been fulfilled. This is because there is a pyramidal structure to which the importance and the sense of immediacy is decided by the individual. For a person who has not fulfilled the physiological needs, the safety needs to not hold the appropriate relevance. Thus we have the ability to set our own needs only on the basis of the kind of needs that have already been fulfilled, Also, an individual can set the goals to achieve preferred needs but it should be made sure that the other needs that come in a lower position in the pyramid have already been fulfilled by the individual. It is only then can goal-setting work in the context of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
