explain how a "two-valued orientation" is closely aligned with diversity, perception, and prejudice. Is there an absolute good or bad - right or wrong? What problems can this type of orientation create for a person or an organization?
Two-valued orientation is a philosophy in language, which asserts that in this world, each entity has an opposite entity. The entities exist in pairs, one of which is the positive half and the other is the negative half. So, an entity is either totally black or impure and totally white or pure. This doctrine does not address the existence of any gray area. A real life example of this doctrine is the Republicans and the Democrats.
A two-valued orientation wants the individual to have a definite opinion, either be positive or be negative. He cannot have an opinion about anything in between. This puts a restriction on the individual’s perception. The individual needs to take a side in his perception as well.
This doctrine has a close association with diversity, perception and prejudice. Every sect is divided into 2 forms and the individuals need to choose their sides. They need to address the difference in their conviction and beliefs and thus take the positive or the negative side of diversity. The individuals must stand for their perception and strive to turn it into reality. The prejudice of any individual can be either for the positive aspect or the negative aspect and cant have an inter-relation between them.
Two-valued orientation can’t be taken into consideration in the real world. Real world has so many aspects and dimensions. Limiting everything to right and wrong is not concrete and appropriate. This doctrine limits the choice of the individual. Each sect considers the other as the evil side. This is not practical and very restrictive.
