Ford motor company
Ford Motor company was established in the year 1903 by Henry Ford in Michigan, US. It is now the fifth largest American automaker having worldwide sales. It is among few of the most successful family run company in the world and was started as a small shop which later got investors and the company turned into Ford Motors Company. It grows very fast and Ford introduces their own trademark in the year 1907. The, Ford comes up with their first model T which was a wheel affordable automobile. In the same year 1908, it opens its first overseas branch in Paris. The, as time passes, in 1917 Ford produces its first Truck and year by year growth has taken place and in the year 2016 Ford has celebrated its 50 years anniversary. Revenue has reached to $151.8 Billion in the year 2016 with approximately 201000 number of employees working in the organization round the globe.
Currently, Ford is operating in more than 45 countries with their showrooms in more than 85 countries. Ford outsource and assemble parts from many countries like China, Germany, India, etc. In India, initially they only outsourced backend work but after reliability they have set up the software development offices as well as e-business solution centres where they are feeling of getting good returns.
Some recent news incudes the acquisition of Volvo Cars Groyp by Ford. Also, Ford is expected to buy the two transportation software companies Autonomic and TransLoc. Ford has received criticism because of cancellation of Mexico Plant because of Trump decision of losses to manufacturing jobs in US.
