Standing still can cause a person to faint because of inadequate return of blood to the heart via veins. Which of the following is NOT occurring to promote return of bland.

ventricular contractio or

skeletal muscle activily compressing veins and forcing blood flow

Solutions

Expert Solution

STATEMENT 2 -skeletal muscle activily compressing veins and forcing blood flow

Skeletal muscle is considered as the peripheral heart beacuse of there Pumping action.

During standing position , the blood are pooled in the lower part of the body, it reduces the return of blood to the heart.skeletal muscle have a pumping action in the return of blood through the vein .

when the skeletal muscle contract it will compresses the vein and produce enough force to pump the blood from the arterial circulation to venous circulation.

But during prolonged standing when the skeletal muscle activity is not there, the Heart doesnt get enough blood to pump to the periphery , so theblood flow to the brain is reduced resulting in the Hypoperfusion causes Fainting.

Ventricular contraction is the contraction of the ventricle to pump the blood out of the heart to the periphery.

Left ventricle contract during the systolic period and pump blood into the Aorta, from the Aorta blood is pumped into the systemic circulation for supplying the tissues.

Right ventricle contract during the systolic period and pump blood into the pulmonary artery. blood is taken into the lung for gaseous exchange and returned to the heart.

So, ventricular contraction result in the pumping of blood from the heart to the periphery.if the skeletal muscle pump is not working properly the heart dont get blood to pump during the ventricular contraction

Hypo-volemic shock, a sudden loss of a large volume of blood, can cause arterial blood pressure to drop significantly, which can compromise blood flow. However, if the loss of blood is not too great, say less than 20% or so, the circulatory system usually responds almost immediately in two ways to restore adequate blood flow. Based upon your understanding of the circulatory system, and control of blood pressure explain what quick cardiovascular adjustments are made to restore flow. Be sure...

Knowing your blood type is important not only because it determines who you can donate blood to but also who you can receive blood from. The second most common blood type in America is A positive and 36 percent of Americans share this blood type. The least common blood type is AB negative and only 0.5 percent of Americans have this blood type. Suppose a random sample of 196 American donors has been chosen at random. In this sample, let...
