What role does the top-management team play in creating the culture of FedEx? can you identify the characteristic norms and values that describe the way people behave in your organiza- tion? How does the design of the organization’s structure affect its culture?
1) Top management plays important role in deciding the structure and strategies at FedEx. Top management is responsible for formulating structure and set culture of the organization .What ever is strategy is set by the top management the whole organization is expected to perform their work according that strategy which is set by the top management in the organization .Top management in any organization is generally guide the middle and lower level management that whether they are performing work according the strategies and ultimately top management will be responsible for that .
Top management set the culture in the organization that also affects the performance of the organization cultures include working habits and commitment of the employees towards work if the top management is very responsible and very dedicated towords thier work and commitment that will give a strong message to the all employees in the organisation to adopt the same attitude.
2) People who are on the top position in any organization they affects the organization at large . Actually whatever policies and procedures they adopt or set in organization the whole organization is executed to perform their duties within that framework .
Some top management people having a very positive attitude generally they involve all levels of management in decision making process that paly a very important role in motivation of the employees and there are some top management people who take decisions in a room and then other levels are expected to implement they decision in the organization . Actually it's depends in top level management that how they deal with it .
3) culture always associated with the organizational structure .In my view the organization structure should be in such format that a employee can easly communicate with another employee .It has been seen in some structure of the organization if a lower level management wants to communicate with top level management they have to go through middle level management which consume much time and energy of the employees.So organizational structure should be in such way that any management Level can easly communicate with any level of management .
There are some pros and cons associated with every structure it's depends on the organization that what structure they adopt if they thik tall structure is good or flat structure is good for their organization thay can adopt that structure for thier organization.
