Organization Goal and vision : a clear and defined Goal and vision is a prerequisite for the development of performance monitoring strategy, as this will decide where will be all team effort should lead to .

A clearly defined organization goal will facilitate in designing performance management strategy and goals.further individual and team goals will be derived out of organization goal .

Like an Airline might have goal of achieving 45 percent market share or 90 percent of On time performance or both.

Defining Key parameter indicators : Based upon organization goals , key parameters indicators will be selected . A measurable and effectively trackable KPI improves transparency in process and makes performance management swift and easy.

In case of an airline it could be load factor (seat fill up rate ) for revenue people OTP ( on time performance ) for operation team .

Tracking of KPIs : Organization should have

Proper tracking tools / monitoring method for tracking KPIs against the set target goals on individual team and organization basis.

This will provide means to judge performance of an individual or a team .

Like in the case of an airlines seat load or departure data from ERP tools form a means of tracking .

Analysis and Adjustment : analysis and adjustment forms important role in performance management , after all KPIs will be compared with targets and goals . If targets were achieved new goals should be adopted and if misses a root cause analysis should be carried out..
