The null and alternative hypothesis is

H0 : p = 0.5

Ha : p < 0.5

= x / n = 875 /1802 = 0.4856

P0 = 0.5

1 - P0 = 1 -0.5 = 0.5

Test statistic = z

= - P0 / [P0 * (1 - P0 ) / n]

=0.4856 -0.50 / [0.50*(0.50) /1802 ]

= -1.22

P(z < -1.22) = 0.1112

P-value = 0.1112

= 0.05

0.1112 > 0.05

Fail to reject the null hypothesis .

There is insufficient evidence to suggest that
