When it comes to marketing in the bottom of the pyramid it is considered to be the most difficult task because when we talk about the bottom of the pyramid, we refer to the poorest section of the society in which the number of people are more but the concepts required to be used while marketing are less and therefore it is considered to be one of the most toughest job at hand. Although there are various organizations who considered this section as an important section because the number is more and there is opportunity to attract this section. As the economic condition of the section is weak hence the best option so to market products with low price because only that will help as the price is one of the most important factors for this section.
I believe that selling an article to this section is very tough because they are very choosy as they have less options and they need to select the best in the limited resources available and the general notion is that they inspect a lot before purchasing and therefore the products have to be better than its competitors in the same range. There are organizations who considered this section as an opportunity and by providing products at a low price they actually try to portray that they contributing for a cause. These strategies may actually benefit an organization but if the planning is a bit weak the results can be very poor. This section generally follow the trend so if a single product is popular there is a huge probability that the product will sell more. The risks and challenges needs to be identified and then the plan of action should be prepared to make the idea a success.
