Describe how the positive effect of extinction procedures can be maintained over the long term
Extinction procedures is focuses on ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis). In this case reinforcement is used for solving the problem of the behaviour. This process is mostly use on the young aged or children.
The positive effect of extinction procedures can be maintained over the long term. So there are some methods is used :-
Positive reinforcement :- In this case, child action is for positive response. They do something for the positive result. Like a child shout for her mother's attention and she smiles at her so the child shout again and again. So her mother starts ignoring her. Then child understand that she didn't reponse the child stops the shouting.
Negative reinforcement :- In this case child action is for negitive response. They do something for the negative result. Like whenever Henna don't want to eat food, she throw her teady. In start her mother pamper her and give her choclate. But after that her mother starts ignoring this behaviour and then Henna starts frustrate and she stop throwing her toy ans starts to eat food.
These are the positive effects of extinction procedures.
