•Inducible operon:- The Lac operon in E.coli is an example of inducible operon. Operon only express in the presence of substance inducer [here ligand], that triggers the transcription [gene expression]. Here the lactose molecule bind with the repressor protein produced by lac i gene and start the expression of lac functional genes Lacz , lac y, Lac a, and produce enzyme beta galctosidase , permease and trans acetylase.
•In the absence of lactose, the lac repressor, laci , halts production of the enzymes encoded by the lac operon and block the production [expression ] of lac functional genes Lacz , lac y, Lac a.
