In a statistical analysis, what is the minimum sample size requirement to apply a test? Is there any maximum? Please provide examples for different tests (min. of two examples).
In statistical analysis, the minimum sample size needed depends upon the confidence level and the confidence interval of measurement. Where, confidence level defines sureity of measurement, confidence interval defines the error margin for the measurement.
So say we have a value of study with 95% confidence level. Then with 5% confidence interval we would need a minimum sample size of 390.
Again with the same measurement but with 99% confidence level. Then with 5% confidence interval we would need a minimum sample size of 670.
there is no maximum sample size limit, higher the sample size, lower would be the error margin and finer would be the result of the experiment.
