As you have not listed how many applications you seek, i am
listing two most general and common ones that are concerned with
real world.
- Medical equipments: In various medical equipments such as an
oxygen mask or a ventilator the presure levels are of utmost
importance and vital to the survival of the patient. If the device
being used is not calibrated properly the reading will not be
accurate and hence will lead to inapproriate supply of vitals to
the patient which can be life-threathening in certain
situations.
- Power Plants: Thermal power plants or hydroelectric power
plants supply a very large chunk of electricity needs for the
world. In these projects pressure levels of water and vapours are
always maintained at operable levels and if the pressure gauges are
not calibrated the pressure levels will not be accurate which can
lead to failure of machines and even catastrophic damage to the
plant or a mishap.
