real-world applications of calibration of pressure gauge

real-world applications of calibration of pressure gauge

Solutions

Expert Solution

As you have not listed how many applications you seek, i am listing two most general and common ones that are concerned with real world.

  1. Medical equipments: In various medical equipments such as an oxygen mask or a ventilator the presure levels are of utmost importance and vital to the survival of the patient. If the device being used is not calibrated properly the reading will not be accurate and hence will lead to inapproriate supply of vitals to the patient which can be life-threathening in certain situations.
  2. Power Plants: Thermal power plants or hydroelectric power plants supply a very large chunk of electricity needs for the world. In these projects pressure levels of water and vapours are always maintained at operable levels and if the pressure gauges are not calibrated the pressure levels will not be accurate which can lead to failure of machines and even catastrophic damage to the plant or a mishap.

There are many applications of the Fibonacci series both in mathematics and in the real world. The Fibonacci series is obtained by starting with 0 and 1, and each subsequent term in the series is obtained by adding the previous two terms. Given n in the top row of the table below, the numbers in the second row represent Fib(n), the numbers in the Fibonacci series. So Fib(0) = 0, and Fib(1) = 1. Then Fib(2)is obtained by adding Fib(0)and...

A pair of vertical, open-ended glass tubes inserted into a horizontal pipe are often used together to measure flow velocity in the pipe, a configuration called a Venturi meter. Consider such an arrangement with a horizontal pipe carrying fluid of density \(p\). The fluid rises to heights \({h_{1}}\) and \({h_{2}}\) in the two open-ended tubes (see figure). The cross-sectional area of the pipe is A1 at the position of tube 1, and \({A_{2}}\) at the position of tube 2. Part...
