What is negotiation? What are the different ways of negotiating with other parties?
Negotiation:
It is a method by which people settle differences, by which they come to an agreement or get compromised while avoiding disputes.
Here are some ways of negotiating with other parties:
1. Avoid being provoked into an emotional response:
Several times, other parties criticize you a lot and you shouldn't get offended by such small things, nor make any other critics on the other parties. It promotes peace between you both and wouldn't really raise any disputes.
2. Don't abandon value-creating strategies:
Negotiators who understand the importance of collaborating or joining hands with one another to create values and peace, often abandons the approach they made to be together. This might results in several disputes and ego clashes for which their idealism will be at stake.
3. Use time to your advantage:
The perceptions might change after the dispute and it takes time to heal everything. As a result of our experiences dealing with conflict, the situations may totally change over time. Rather than viewing your dispute as permanently intractable, try to view it as being constantly in flux. It settles everything and you would be successful in negotiating.
