What do the boxed letters represent, what is this diagram known as and what is it used for? Furthur what are the number and sequence of strings you will get from reading this diagram. Lastly would increasing the legth of your k-mer help in solving your problem(why)?
The letters in the boxes denote single letter code of amino acids. The diagram indicated the biosynthesis of polypeptide.
A -- alanine
C -- cysteine
D -- Aspartic acid
E -- Glutamic acid
F -- Phenylalanine
G -- Glycine
Y -- tyrosine
Z -- Glutamine
Phe -- Ala -- Ala -- Cys -- Cys -- Gly -- Gly -- Glu -- Glu -- Ala
|
Cys -- Tyr -- Gly -- Asp -- Asp -- Gln -- Gln -- Ala
This is branched polymer of polypeptide chain. In the sequence 1 10 amino acids are present and sequence 2, 8 amino acids are present. Increasing length may not solve the problem because it is shown in the diagram that sequence 1 synthesizes the amino acids in sequence 2. Instead of this joining of both sequences would result in a polypeptide containing 18 amino acid residues.
