Yes, there is truth because there have been instances when employees are not aware of the details of employment law and may actually do something that is actually illegal but it may have seemed that the action might benefit theborganization. There have also been instances when an employer is not entitled to do something but have done and the employee unaware of the law has let the employer continue due to the fear of losing the job. I believe that organizations should take the initiative of educating employees so that such discrepancies do not occur in the future and that is only possible when formal training programs are conducted for employees who have just joined so that they have an idea of how to behave in such situations.
Employees should be educated about the employment laws so that they can act accordingly and keep themselves aloof from such incidents. This is required for the betterment of the employees and the organization and also the employees. The organization should also take the initiative to make the employees updated with changes and updates in the law, situation reaction tests should be conducted on a periodic basis so that the employees are updated with such laws, I have seen organizations whonvonduc such assessment once in a year which is mandatory for all employees and they need to qualify.
