What is the future of IoT? What are the trends? What is the role of your degree skill set in the world of IoT? How does the world of IoT affect you personally? Professionally?
Whenever we get into the world of IoT, we hear something new in this field and the advancements in this field as you know are very great and quick.Everyone, be it consumers be it corporates, are embracing the changes brought by the revolution called the Internet of Things (IoT). It has changed the world in more ways than we could imagine until a few years back. And the changes and advancements will continue in future as well, in fact, Internet of Things (IoT) will shape our future. Already the numbers are staggering; billions of sensors connected with billions of devices are redefining almost everything under the sun. It is estimated that around 75 Billion devices will be interconnected by 2025.
With my set of degree skill, I entirely fit into the role of IoT developer.Python is my choice language. It is popular with Raspberry Pi, the single-board computer that is widely used in IoT projects of all sizes. Also crucial to IoT is Node.js, a low-resource server platform that manages connected devices. Node.js is based on the JavaScript programming language. If you want to dig deeper and get into more advanced scenarios such as programming microcontrollers and Arduino boards, knowledge of C/C++ isl a must. These platforms give me a great jumpstart in programming the IoT.
The IoT has a deep imapact on my life.As I am myself an engineer, and love playing with gadgets.
Remote Access: It enables to access me and control devices from my office. I do control my geysers and ac from my office. These IoT devices make my life more convenient.
Process Monitoring : I am able to monitor all the stats of my devices and thus keep a check on cost and maintain my budget.
Accurate Prediction : They can help me predicting the climate of coming database , by future predictions and analyzing previous records in database
Data Communication : Sharing of data between workplaces and business is possible because of IoT
So, if I say professsionally, I find myself very unique when I call myself A IoT developer as Tech-giants like Cisco, IBM and SAP are launching internal business units and spending billions to grow the infrastructure of the Internet of Things, while major consumer and industrial manufacturers like Ford, General Electric, Bosch and Philips are working overtime to develop the next generation of intelligent devices. And it's a feeding frenzy on IoT startups; myriad VC firms alongside IT trend-setters like Google and Intel are rapidly acquiring promising hardware and software suppliers in the Internet of Things ecosystem.
As the Internet of Things continues to expand, forward-thinking IT professionals will enjoy a variety of challenging and lucrative job opportunities. These IT skill sets will be especially sought-after in the age of IoT:
