The Levels of organization.
A) A woman goes to the emergency room and complains of a pain in her abdomen. B) The doctor tells her that she has an ulcer that has damaged the ling of her stomach. C) The doctor also mentions that the patient has diabetes.
Please describe the levels of organization the doctor is referring to in:
A)
B)
C)
In Biology, levels of organization refers to structure of an organism, from the simplest to the highest. For example, the levels of organization in a multicellular organism like humans will be -
cell --> tissue---> organ----> organ system ---> organism or body
If we consider the structure of the cell we can further simplify it as atoms ---> molecules --> cell organelles-->cells
In the above scenario, the levels of body organization the doctor is referring to would be -
A] Body level
Because the patient goes to the doctor complaining about pain in a particular region of her body.
B] Tissue level -
The stomach is an organ made up of several layers of tissues. The inside lining of the woman's stomach is damaged because of ulcers. So, the tissue level of organization has been damaged.
C] Organ level -
Diabetes is a disease in which the excess sugar in the blood is not converted into glycogen because of less production of insulin in the pancreas. This means that the pancreas are not working efficiently. Since the pancreas are a body organ, the problem is at the level of the concerned organ.
