ANSWER :-
- Maximum residue limit is the amount of pestices that is
allowed to be present on the food and other products which help us
to identify the limits upon the amount of pesticides which should
be spread. A proper monitoring unit should be kept which will
regulate at what time a particular piece of land should be sprayed
with pesticide under a limited range which will help prevent
resistance as the first step is to lower the use of pesticides as
constant spraying would result in the insects becoming
resistant.
- It would be effective if the resistant crop varieties
are used which in turn will lead to minimize the use of pesticides.
Research with respect to development of new strains of resistant
plant varieties should be developed with minimum pesticide
requirement.
- It is very important to avoid accumulation of the
pesticides over the crop for a longer duration and hence solubility
of the pesticides in water as well as it should be easily degraded
so as to lower their retention time which in turn will reduce
resistance to an extent.
