Advances in technology are making it easier than ever for people to collaborate, even when they are dispersed globally. Discuss how you could manage potential conflict within your team over the fact that not all members will have the same knowledge of the English language.

Some of the most effective ways to decipher someone's emotion or body language. I think this is an immense skill for any director, in particular one who supervises a team of people with the same language skills. In my opinion, it is obvious when a person is having a bad day or something is bothering them at work.It is incredibly important to be open as a manager to employees so they can come and be truthful, particularly if they feel they are not adequately addressed or understood. "The best strategy is to contact people who are involved after the anger," according to Nathalie Boutet, because there is no sense in talking to anyone who is angry or upset. There needs to be no furious dispute on that level, so that a manager can pursue additional contact with a partner. Consistent reviews and individual assessments are important for the employees' comprehension.

Compare how the stages of group development might be different for virtual teams compared to traditional face-to-face teams. What would be some of your recommendations for dealing with the differences in group stages of development in virtual teams?

The group creation phases are formation, stormed, standardized, implemented and postponed. I believe that, if a manager knows how to manage a telecom team, the stages are the same. Creating, storming and standardization are easy to communicate with, for example, e-mail or virtual face-to - face meetings.

According to Kate Baucherel, digital strategist, "Material is formal and organized" at the start of the first stage of preparation and the group's members are reluctant to speak. At this point , I think a subject of discussion should be brought up by someone who makes them increasingly relaxed. My advice is to have a discussion without any association with the project or job and loosen people up, so they feel they are collaborating with friends and not just coworkers / classmates.

Identify and summarize the five barriers to communication. Then, assume you are communicating with someone who has an oversized ego. What actions could you take to increase the effectiveness of your communication with this person?

Language , culture, gender, psychology and perception are the five communication barriers. The first three are fundamental to themselves. Language is an enormous barrier to overcoming, especially in the context of telecommunications to countries other than English and other business people. Culture and gender often play a major role in communication, as it is often difficult for you or someone who has had different values and ideas like you to bring yourself into the shoes of opposite sex.

The barrier to psychology relates among others to "ego, belief in one's right, vagueness." The barrier to interpretation also applies to psychology because individuals are different in terms of how their own ego or opinion can influence them. If I work with someone with a big ego, as I do with my boss on a regular basis, I will approach them as someone interested in learning about them, who will teach me something. In my experience, selfish people who consider themselves excellent in every aspect of life love talk about themselves and their accomplishments. I would lean into it and encourage it to speak to them in a way that would also help me understand, if I had to communicate with them.
