Solutions

Expert Solution

38.a low potassium.

Aldosterone hormone are released by the zona glomerulosa by adrenal gland and regulated by  the sodium and potassium level in bloodstream. When sodium or potassium reduced in blood, it gets inhibited. ACTH is released by the anterior pituiatry and geulated the cortisol release from adrenal gland. Inhibition of the renin -angiotensin mechanism ,dopamine and atrial natriuretic peptide inhibits the release of aldosterone from adrenal gland.

12. d. Na+

The absorption through the digestive system is determined by the pH of the stomach. The stomach posses the acid pH of (1-3 ), allows the absorption of weak acids, non-ionized molecules and lipid soluble forms. Therefore ,Amino acid, monosachharides and triglycerides get eaisly absorbed through digestion machinery . The ionized form or weak bases can't be absobed. So, Na+ doesn't get absorbed through this.

0.False .

Growth hormone released by the anterior pituitatry gland ,triggers the increase of total lean mass of the body through the collagen synthesis and lipolysis .Howerver ,it is not anabolic in terms of contractile muscle tssue.

40.  d. ALL of the above

The parathyroid hormone (PTH)released from the parathyroid gland, acts on the oesteoclast and causes release of calcium when extrcellular calcium level reduces. Also help in the absoprtion calcium by body. PTH increases the uptake of phosphate from the intestinal lining and bones into bloodstream. PTH mRNA is found to be abundant in the parathyroid gland, causes increased protein secretion.
