Neuroscience approaches and neuroimaging allow us to do all but which of the following:
Compare cognitively healthy brains to brains of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease
Definitively diagnose Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias
Link measures of performance to measures of brain structure or functioning
Link active brain activity with cognitive behavior
The major diffrence between a healthy brain and brain of an Alzheimer's diseased individual is smaller in size. Due to alzheimer's the brain shrinks. Shrinkage is especially severe in the hippocampus, which is the area present in the cortex that plays a key role in formation of new memories.
The cortex shrivels up, damaging areas involved in thinking, planning and remembering. Ventricles which is the fluid filled spaces within the brain grow larger.
There are many diffrence between dementia nad Alzheimer's disease. Dementia is not a disease, it is a group of symptoms which affects memory and resoning power. Alzheimer's is a disease which is a cause of dementia. Demintia is not a cause of Alzheimer's.Alzheimer's disease get worse with time and person cannot came back to normal life.
The connectivity and community structure of the brain network is related to measures of cognitive performance. Brain is the organ which coordinate and provide commands to the body as well as each organs to work. So the performance of the entire body is depend on the function and structure of brain. So there is a relation between brain volume and cognitive performance. Cognitive activities such as memory, reasoning, intelligence are performed by the brain. The memory is stored in the cerebral cortex and it depend on the number of neurons present in the cerebrum.
