What could occur to an ecosystem if an entire species of an organism at the second trophic level became extinct? especially the first trophic level
An ecosystem is a place where biotic as well as abiotic factors live together in harmony.
Trophic levels are the the levels of organisms in a food chain.
So, if the species at second trophic level becomes extinct then the species at the first trophic level will increase.
There will be too much growth of species at first trophic level.
First trophic level is always occupied by plants that is producers.
Now, if the species at the second trophic level die then the species at the third trophic level will die as they will not have prey or in other words their food to eat.
So, the entire food chain will get affected.
