Family life during the preindustrial period differed quite a bit from family life during the Industrial Revolution. Discuss some of these differences.
One thing which I want to mention first is that the modes of production in pre industrial time and post industrial time are very different. In pre industrial time we had a very localized production. The production was very limited. However after industrial revolution things changed drastically. Big factories were established. Raw materials were imported from all parts of the world. The finished products were exported to all parts of the world. So the economy which was more or less localized before industrialization, it became internationalized after industrial revolution.
These changes came at some cost. Before industrialization we lived a happy family life. We were satisfied with the things we had. We lived a communitarian way of life. There was a sense of belongingness with the family and society. However when Industrailization was at its peak the need for labour force arosed. People from rural parts were mobilized to work as a labourers. Gradually a settlement started around factories. The life in cities and towns are completely different from that of pre industrial time. Earlier we were happy with what we had but now with new way of life, new demands arosed. People are continuously busy in work. The don't have time for their family, their society and even for themselves. As a result they start getting alienated . Fir they get alientaed from society, then family, then his work and finally from themselves.
This for is the most important change and other changes are the byproduct of this change.
