An individual finds that they have high blood pressure. Explain two different responses (from different body systems) that their body will have in order to try and maintain homeostasis
Short term regulation of the Blood pressure is done with the help of Baroreceptor
When the blood pressure inceases -------> the Baroreceptor in the carotid sinus and aortic arch get stimulated--------> it will send impulse to the brain and activate the cardioinhibitory center and inhibit the cardioacceleratory center also inhibit the vasomotor center------->
1)Sympathetic supply to the heart is inhibited resulting in decrease in the Heart rate,Constraction and cardiac output -------> Blood pressure decreases to Normal .
2)Decrease in the rate of vasodilation in the blood vessel ----------> decreases teh blood pressure to normal.
Other mechanism is cardiomyocyte of the heart secrete a hormone called Atrial natriuretic factor(ANF) when the heart get stretched -------> it act on renal tubule and increase the excretion of Sodium ------> decrease the Blood pressure to Normal.
Another mechanism is decreased secretion of Anti diuretic hormone during High blood pressure
sometimes the high blood pressure is due to the high blood volume , in such condition the secretion of the ADH from the hypothalamus is inhibited --------> Increased loss of water through renak tubule (diluted urine ) -------> decrease in Blood pressure
Another mechanism is inhibition of Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone system (RAAS) .
RAAS mechanism increases the blood pressure , so inhibition of this mechanism can reduce the Blood pressure to Normal .
