The sources of information that Jim and his team have collected include primary and secondary research data. As the case suggests, Jim has done a lot of interviews, held focus group discussions, and spoken to the other organizations running such programs. On the other, his team members also collected data on the system that is available online and researched a few different types of tools that can be used for customer loyalty programs.
*What do you think are the sources of the information Jim and his team collected? How do you think they collected all of that information?
Jim and his team have used both the primary and secondary methods of collecting the information. It is because Jim has collected the data and information by way of organized interviews. It is a method that involves asking questions in person from the respondents. It is a more flexible method of collecting the necessary data from the consumers. On the other hand, the manger team has skimmed through all the secondary sources like research papers and articles on an online platform by using various tools. Both the methods of collecting information are efficient in their way. The manger and the leader have organized and motivated employees to collect the secondary information, and he simultaneously collected the information via the interview method. The team has got the data using various research papers, articles, journals, and write-ups by many experts and researchers. It is a tough task to read many research papers, and then come to a conclusion. The team has to read around 100-110 research papers to get the proper insight into the subject matter. Hence, it becomes crucial to analyze the data with the help of secondary resources thoroughly.
On the other hand, Jim has got the first-hand data, which is accurate and non-biased. Jim has questions from the objectives and hypotheses of the research area. It has helped him to conduct a well-researched study.
