a. Apotransferrin and Transferrin protein are activated and platelets form the plug

b. Constriction of the injured vessel, Formation of platelet plug to occlude the opening and clot formation

c. Constriction of the injured vessel recruitment of eosinophils, basophils and neutrophils and clot formation

d. Formation of platelet plug, inflammation and increase in the Erythrocyte cells

2. Cats have better nocturnal vision because:

a. The depth perception is greater due to the medial location of the eyes

b. The convex lens and the pupil have a greater range of dilation

c. Cats have a larger cornea area compared to dogs

d. Cats have a greater area on the tapetum lucidum

Solutions

Expert Solution

1)OPTION B - . Constriction of the injured vessel, Formation of platelet plug to occlude the opening and clot formation

REASON:

When there is an injury to teh tissue , there will be profuse bleeding . This bleeding will be controlled by a set of cellular component and this process is called Homeostasis

Hoemostasis is controlled by certain cell components.

1)The first step in the homeostasis is

Vasoconstriction: The damaged endothelial tissue releases certain vasodilating chemicals which act on the blood vessel and constrict it. It reduce the surface area of blood loss.

2)Next step in the homeostasis is the PLATELET ADHESION

During this process the platelet cells in the circulation come and adhere to the damaged endothelium

3)Platelet Activation: The adhered platelet cells get activated with the help of Thrombin and the platelet cell releases some granules in to the surroundings

4)Platelet aggregation: Tthe activated platelet help in the recruitement of platelets into the damged endothelium.

This processes help in the formation of a weak platelet clot in the injurea area

The platelet plug is further strengthen by the clotting mechanism in which the prothrombin is converted into thrombin and fibrinogen will convert into Fibrin.

2)OPTION D - Cats have a greater area on the tapetum lucidum

Tapetum lucidum is a reflective layer present in the cat (The greenish glowing layer seen in the cat during the night time).

it is situated behing the layer of retina.

It help in the reflection of low light into a intensified light , this will activate the Rod photoreceptor of the cat.

Also the cat have more nujmber of rod cell than the human have , this also a reason for nocturnal vision in cat.
