We say that the findings of a statistical analysis of data are statistically significant when the findings are not due to chance factor. The statistical significance does not imply practical significance. When we check any hypothesis or claim by using the hypothesis testing, we commonly use the word statistical significance. If the result of the test is statistically significant, then we can say that the given results are not due to random factor or chance causes. For determining the statistical significance for the hypothesis tests, we use the P-value or critical value in comparison with test statistic value.
