Continuous changing of the economic, technological and political
conditions caused the Human Resource Managers of the future facing
more problems in the management of labor. The Human Resource
Managers of today may find themselves outdated in the future due to
changes in the environment if they do not update themselves some of
the important challenges. If you are the Human Resource Manager,
detail out the threats or challenges that would arise and suggest
strategies to overcome those challenges.
Being a human resource manager and considering the ever changing dynamic organisational environment, there are a numerous number of threats and challenges that could arise while working with the employees. Some common ones are:
1. Technological Changes: The first challenge or threat is the change in the technology working in the world. As we are growing towards more technological era of working, technology is upgrading and even replacing the human resource. This is a challenge as being a manager you have to manage your employees and keep them up to date with the technology so that the people shouldn't become obsolete and shouldn't get replaced.
For this, try having technological classes, seminars and trainings. Make sure everyone is attending and learning the different aspects of technology and getting a hang of it. Make everyone learn the different technological trends and make them adapt this in their regular working life as well.
2. Economical Changes: Another challenge or threat would be the change in the economy or economical factors of the world causing a change in the human resource as well. As the world isn't having a stable economy, many economical factors like labour demand or supply, labour rate, the inflation or deflation cause problems for the management of the labour. The challenge of paying competitive wages and compensation so that more employees could be attracted to the company and the same compensation is as per the demand rate is very hard to manage.
For this, the best solution is to always have a team or department assigned to have an overlook regarding what is happening in external environment with the same labour rate and exchange. Always make sure your internal as well as external factors are well understood and every economical and labour demand rate is well met off.
3. Legal Changes: The third challenge would be the legal changes taking around the world. It is a threat and challenge in itself to manage and make sure your organisation is working in compliance with the legal customs and the laws made for the human resource. Various employement laws like Equal Employement Opportunity, Employement Act, Equality and Diversity Laws etc have to worked alongside with the policies of the company to make sure the human resource is working as per the stated laws.
To have this done, make sure your company's lawyers and the people making the policies and executing the same are incharge and in respect with these legal and custom duties. Make sure all these laws are followed and everyone is able to comply and work with the best benefit for all in the organisation.
4. Cultural Changes: At last, one more challenge would be the cultural and social changes and the threats arising. As people in the organisations are coming from different states and different cultures, every person is having different perspective. point of view and value system. These different values and personalities create a threat and challenge in itself to manage them together.
To get over with this strategy, make sure you understand and communicate with your employees together. Always make sure the team work and team diversity is fulfilled. Celebrate the diversity and make sure your company is able to understand the difference and enjoy it too. A healthy organisational culture where everyone is respecting and working together should be maintained.
