1) Primary Central organ of immune system are where lymphocytes are formed and mature. They provide an environment for stem cells to divide and mature into B- and T- cells. It includes:
2) Secondary peripheral organ of immune system are sites for maturation of the preformed lymphocytes. Some immune action also occurs in these organs. It includes
3) ANTIGEN PRESENTING CELLS
Antigen presenting cells (APCs) Are cells that break down foreign proteins, process them, and express peptide fragments on their membrane.
4) COMPLEMENT CASCADE
The complement system activates through a triggered-enzyme cascade. It causes foreign and infected cells lysis, the phagocytosis of foreign particles and cell debris, and the inflammation of surrounding tissue.
5) EPITOPE
Epitope (or antigenic determinant) is a portion a foreign protein, or antigen that binds to a specific antigen receptor on the surface of a B cell. It is capable of initiating an immune response.
