Adrenal gland divided into two layers outside layer called cortisol and inside layer called Medulla. Cells in the adrenal galnd makes steroid hormone derived from cholesterol and anderogens.Where as the medulla makes Catecholamines(adrenanline). Catecholamines (adrenaline and non adrenaline) are fight or flight hormones. They control the caliber of blood vessels in the skin, muscles and internal organs as well regulate the strength and speed of the heartbeat in stressfull conditions, their output is increased which leads to the rapid pulse and high blood pressure.
But when a virus has attacked the pateint's adrenal glands and causing the cells of medulla to die leads to the inability to increase heart rate in response to fight or flight situation. So the correct option is C.
