The HIV virus attaches to the CD4 receptor of the T- cells.
T cells are the lymphocytes
The HIV is the human immuno deficiency virus which is
transmitted by the blood route and through body fluids.
HIV virus belongs to a group of retro virus family.
The virus when enters to the body attaches to the T-cell for the
multiplication in the host. The gp120 protein in the outer coating
of the virus is responsible for the attachment.
T-cells helps in the identification of the host but in the case of
HIV it is lost as it attacks the cells which inturn causes the CD8
cells to loose its function of attacking the cells.
