The numerical aspect of statistics can be described as "numbers with social context." What does this mean to you?
Statistics is a collection of methods for planning experiments, obtaining data, and then analyzing, interpreting and drawing conclusions based on the data.Social context refers to variables that, while not usually the direct target of policy, are crucial for understanding the context within which social policy is developed. Social context is the surroundings, the people, that influences how you interpret things, how you speak, what you speak about, or how you act. How you react in a social context also has something to do with experiences you may have had beforehand. Statistical context includes definitions, methodological changes and other caveats that affect how we might otherwise interpret the figures Social context in the field of statistics refers to the range of date of statistics which is widely applicable to the social/ real life problems. whether its banking, datas of companies, census, collection of day to day data in various fields etc...
A variety of numerical measures are used to summarize data. The proportion, or percentage, of data values in each category is the primary numerical measure for qualitative data. The mean, median, mode, percentiles, range, variance, and standard deviation are the most commonly used numerical measures for quantitative data.
