Describe each term below and provide an example of a company (real or imagined) that uses this concept. Describe how it impacts the company to process information this way.
(Answer) Centralized Processing is defined to be the processing wherein it gets centrally located and the computer system would process the data. This is where the powerful computer would be needed for processing centrally for gaining high speed and fast accesses. The data would get stored to the centralized data storage.
Example: Amazon and eBay use such form of data processing
This helps in making it as a hierarchical decision making structure which would add all the decision as well as processes to be handled from a top or the executive level and the policies could be implemented and directed to be worked that way.
The decentralized process is defined to be an area where the computer system would be present in different locations and the data would get transmitted among the computer in a periodical form. This would state the daily communication in a limit with regards to the distributed computing as well as centralized processing system.
Example: Net cafe uses all the systems performing their own tasks and use different CPU which are connected to the network which is then controlled by the single CPU.
This is used as it is better when it comes to timely decision and also enhances the motivation. This also gives an ease of problem solving and facilitates the diversification and development.
The distributed processing is being used for variety of the computer systems which uses more than one computer for running the applications . This contains the parallel processing wherein the single computer would use more than one CPU for executing the program.
Example: The intranet, internet, email, Telecommunication network etc
This has components located on different networked computers which enhance the communication and coordination of their action by providing the message to the other one.
