Ans - Fe (iron) at the suface dissolve in moisture film and leaves electron or neagatice charge in atom -

the reaction is given by-

Fe ----------> Fe2+ + 2 e-

Dipolarizer electron from metal and corrosion continues common dipolarizers are -

oxygen -

O2 + 4H2O ----------------> 4OH- + 4e-

acid reaction is given as -

2H+ +2e- -------------> H2

cationic equation is -

Cu2+ +2e- ---------------> Cu

The metal cones under stress , the metal ions dissolve in moisture , the resulting hydroxide ions react with the Fe2+ to form the mixture of hydrous iron oxides known as rust (a film ).
