Briefly elaborate on the major domains of a specific transcription factor necessary to transmit information from the enhancer to the promoter element.

Expert Solution

Transcription is the process where a gene's DNA sequence is copied or transcribed into RNA moecule on the way to making a protein. Any protein that is needed for the initiation of transcription is defined as transcription factor that help turn specific genes 'on' or 'off' by binding to nearby DNA. Transcription factors are contain DNA binding domain, Trans activating domain, signal sensing domain. Among which DNA binding domain attachs to specific sequence of DNA (Enhancer or Promoter : Used to drive transcription of the vectors transgene promoter sequence). The transcriptionl process of eukaryotes consists of two complimentary regulatory components : the cis acting elements and trans acting elements. The trans acting elements are transcription factor or other DNA binding protein which recognise and bind to specific sequence of cis acting elements to initiate, enhance or supress transcription.

The major domains are described in attachment.

Briefly describe the specific characteristics of the normal curve. Conceptually, where does it come from? What human behavior, trait, or characteristic can you think of that is normally distributed? Can you think of one that isn't? Remember you cannot use categorical (nominal or ordinal) level measurements for this example.
