Cesar Chavez is a role model for me. He was a civil rights activist who was himself originally a Mexican American farm worker. He was strongly promoted by the American labor movement that was eager to enroll Hispanic members. March 31 the birthday of Cesar Chavez, is very rightly a federal commemorative holiday (Cesar Chavez Day) observed by several states in the US. During his life only he received many honors and accolades such as the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1994. To me, Cesar Chavez represents a man who despite his humble beginning was very successful in representing the cause of his community due to the extreme element of sincerity and integrity in his personality. He voiced the concerns of this community very effectively by being one of them only i.e. he himself worked as a farmer while trying to raise a voice for the working class of the country. The fact that he was aggressive but not violent shows his sagacity and tactfulness as a leader.
