Describe the features of G-protein coupled receptors in which show drugs or ligand that -act as an agonist and antagonist at those receptor types.
ANS)
The G protein-coupled receptors, contain a big protein family of receptors which identify molecules that are present outer part of the cell and trigger the internal transduction pathways and eventually the cellular responses coupling with the G-proteins and the G protein -coupled receptors are also having an another name and that is,Seven-transmembrane receptors. This name has given to them because they travel by the means of cell membrane for 7 times.
The G-Protein-coupled receptors is having an important task in assisting cell communication by identification of various ligans, involving the nucleosides, lipids, amines and also the bioactive peptides.
These G protein- coupled receptors are normally seen only in the eukaryotes, involving choanoflagellates, yeast and also the animals.
Drugs or ligands that act as an agonist and antagonist at the G protein-coupled receptors include, neurotransmitters, hormones, light- sensitive compound, pheromones and ordors.
