11. ANSWER -

PRIMARY OOCYTE(2n- diploid) - Forms in the fetal stage which are arreseted in the stage prophase-1.

SECONDARY OOCYTE (n- haploid) - first meotic division(complete prior to ovulation). This happens at puberty. Adult reproductive life.

OVUM ( n - haploid) -Ovulation- Mature graffian follicle ruptures and releases ovum (egg). Happens in adults mid month of menstrual cycle.

  • Ovum and secondary oocytes are haploid. Because of reduction division (meosis).

12. ANSWER - FOLLICULAR PHASE / PROLIFERATIVE PHASE (1- 14 days of menstrual cycle)

  • Slight Development in uterine walls.
  • Ovarian events takes place.
  • Pitiutary hirmone (LH & FSH) maintains.
  • 1-4 days menses.
  • Ovarian hormones : Estrogen increases prior to ovulation.
  • Progesterone maintains the level.
  • LH surge - sudden increase of this hormone happens when ovulation takes place not only LH but also FSH. LH is at peak at the time of ovulation.
