12. In the ovarian cycle, what are the main events of the follicular phase? What are the main
hormones involved?
11. ANSWER -
PRIMARY OOCYTE(2n- diploid) - Forms in the fetal stage which are arreseted in the stage prophase-1.
SECONDARY OOCYTE (n- haploid) - first meotic division(complete prior to ovulation). This happens at puberty. Adult reproductive life.
OVUM ( n - haploid) -Ovulation- Mature graffian follicle ruptures and releases ovum (egg). Happens in adults mid month of menstrual cycle.
12. ANSWER - FOLLICULAR PHASE / PROLIFERATIVE PHASE (1- 14 days of menstrual cycle)
HORMONES INVOLVED:
LH- LUTEINISING HORMONE
FSH - FOLLICULAR STIMULATING HORMONE.
