2. Suppose a large size chocolate fudge ice cream gives 162 Calories. If an ice cream contains 6.00 g of carbohydrate and 12.0 g of protein then find out grams of fat? [1g Fat = 9kcal, 1g Protein = 4kcal, and 1g Carbohydrate = 4kcal]
Let us first calculate the the calories coming from protein, carbohydrate and fat.
As the total calories in ice cream is 162.
We know that ice cream contains 6 g of carbohydrate and 12 g of protein
Therefore,
Calories from carbohydrate = gram of carbohydrate x 4 Kcal
= 6 x 4 Kcal = 24 kcal
Calories from protein = grams of protein x 4 Kcal
= 12 x 4 Kcal = 48 kcal
Now we can calculate calories from fat using following formula
Calories from fat = total calories - (calories from carbohydrate + calories from protein)
= 162 - (24 + 48)
= 162 - 72 = 90 kcal
As we know that 1 g fat = 9 kcal. Therefore, 90 kcal = 10 g fat
Thus, answer is 10 g fat is present
