In general , we look at least two unique factors therefore the idea of statistical independence underlies in statistical hypothesis testing.
Two factors are statistically dependent if the estimations of these two factors are taken on a similar unit. For example, the heaviness of guys estimated in summer and the heaviness of same guys estimated in winter and a hypothesis test is run to check whether there exists a distinction between the loads in winter and summer , we know that here the guys are same for the two seasons therefore the example loads should be needy.
