Sweat Shops: Sweat shop is the term given for the workplace or the shop that has very poor work conditions, socially unacceptable work conditions. The work at that shop may be difficult, dangerous, climatically challenged or underpaid.

Thus the sweat shop is the work place for the employees which is not suitable workplace for employees and is having the environment which is generally not acceptable to consumers, people in the society.

Sweat shop is a factory working conditions or workshop working conditions , mainly in cloth segment, where labors are employed at very low wages, for long duration or long hours and under poor working conditions and having many health related risks in that working environment.

Sweat shows the hard work of the labor against the low earning. Thus the shop named as sweat shop which indicates that the labor are working very hard and the operation of the work place are very hard and they simulate with the working sweat.

Some of the key facts about sweat shops as below

  • A sweat shop generally violates the labor laws…minimum two labor laws are violated in the workplace.
  • Sweat shop often have issues like poor working conditions, unfair wages, unreasonable hours, child labor and lack of benefit for workers.
  • Children are forced to work in such sweat shops.
