Employers find it difficult to employ skilled labor when there is no housing. Students cannot complete their educations as there is an extensive housing shortage in the study places. When they are forced to spend a large part of their study time looking for housing, it can lead to a depletion of skills in the Swedish labor market. In an interview in SvD Näringsliv, SFS's (Swedish United Student Unions) Vice Chairman Jacob Adamowicz warns of the effects on both the individual level and for Sweden as a nation of knowledge. He believes that it will be a big problem for students that instead of focusing on studying, they must spend time thinking about finding housing. ”The housing shortage has an influence so that a change takes place in the students' well-being and it happens that students drop out due to of the difficulty of obtaining housing .SFS sees a slight improvement in the situation for students as the construction of student housing has increased slightly.
Note- The Housing Market refers to the supply and demand for houses, usually in a particular country or region. A key element of the housing market is the average house prices and trend in house prices. Discrimination in the housing market reinforces the patterns of residential segregation that have been largely shaped by decades of racially biased housing policies. Most importantly, housing discrimination and residential segregation hamper the ability of African American homebuyers to build equity.
