could tin (6.20 x 10^-19j) be used to construct solar cells

could tin (6.20 x 10^-19j) be used to construct solar cells

Solutions

Expert Solution

YES.

Recently it has been found out that tin can be used in place of lead to construct solar cells. In fact these can be easily constructed than the existing ones.

Solar cells based on a class of semiconductors known as lead perovskites are rapidly emerging as an efficient way to convert sunlight directly into electricity. However, the reliance on lead is a serious barrier to commercialisation, due to the well-known toxicity of lead.

Until now lead is being used in solar cells. But intoxication due to use of lead has been a major isuue currently and the industry is trying to shift to TIN instead of LEAD.Also it has been found out that use of TIN would even decrease the cost of fabrication.

Solar electricity cost. Despite all the advantages of using solar cells to harvest solar energy, solar electricity still has an insignificant share (~1%) in the world’s overall energy supply picture. This is mostly due to the economic consideration. While there’s virtually no fuel (sunlight) cost and maintenance cost once the solar panels are installed, the initial cost of solar electricity systems is still the obstacle for wide-spread adoption of solar photovoltaic technologies. a. Use the single-crystalline Si solar panels as...

Q2. Solar or photovoltaic (PV) cells convert sunlight to electricity and are commonly used to power calculators, satellites, remote communication systems, and even pumps. The conversion of light to electricity is called the photoelectric effect. It was first discovered in 1839 by Frenchman Edmond Becquerel, and the first PV module, which consisted of several cells connected to each other, was built in 1954 by Bell Laboratories. The PV modules today have conversion efficiencies of about 12 to 15 percent. Noting...

In this question you are going to calculate the data that could be used to construct a titration curve (pH versus volume of titrant added) for the titration of an aqueous ammonia (NH3; weak base, pKB = 4.7) cleaning solution with a strong acid (HCl). When strong acid is added to an aqueous solution, it immediately reacts and yields H3O + ions; thus the titration is described by the reaction: NH3(aq) + H3O + (aq)  NH4 + + H2O(l)...
