Ring strain of the cycloalkane is a cobination of angle strain and torsional strain. Angle strain arises due to deviation of bond angle from the ideal bond angle which is expected from the hybridisation. If we move from cyclopropane to cyclopentane, the angle strain decreases. But, for cyclohexane it again increases. So, we can expect that cyclohexane are relatively less stable than cyclopentane. But cyclohexane is more stable because the bond angle allows the effective overlap of all orbital. So, if we move from cyclopropane to cyclohexane, the relative stability increases.
2. There are two type of ring strain. One is angle strain. And another is torsional strain.
