Develop a new index on the human condition that can be used to measure and compare at the country level called the Human Needs Index. Base your index on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Locate quality of life measurements that match Maslow’s hierarchy from a reliable data sources. (List your measures and sources). Develop a mathematical index using the measurements. Calculate the HNI for as many countries as you can. Write a short description of your index.

An experiment was performed to compare the abrasive wear of two different laminated materials. 40 pieces of material 1 were tested by exposing each piece to a machine measuring wear. 100 pieces of material 2 were similarly tested. In each case, the depth of wear was observed. The samples of material 1 gave an average (coded) wear of 85 units with a sample standard deviation of 4, while the samples of material 2 gave an average of 81 with a...

A new model compact car is being tested for gasoline consumption. A random sample of 40 such cars were tested at the sea level and found to get an average of 36.2 m/g (miles per gallon) with a sample standard deviation of 4.8 m/g. Another random sample of 35 such cars were tested one mile above the sea level in Denver, CO., and found to get an average of 31.5 m/g with a sample standard deviation of 5.5 m/g. At...
