Explain the difference between a soft drink containing sugar and a diet soft drink, in terms of density and concentration.
A Soft Drink contains sugar in carbonated water (carbondioaxide dissoved in water) whereas an Diet Soft Drink contains sugar substitutes called Aspartame, Saccharin, Sucralose etc.
Soft Drink - A soft drink contains around 10 to 15 grams of sugar per 100 mL of water. This sugar is not much sugery in taste and that is why to get the right taste a lot of suger is added in water making the sugar concentration too much.
Diet Soft Drink - A diet soft drink contsins lesser amount of suger substitutents. This is because suger substituents like Aspartame, Saccharin are much sugery than actual suger. Aspartame is 200 times more sugery than suger. Given the sugery taste of substituents their has to be lesser amount of the same should be added to get the desired taste. This implies that sugar content (density or conccentration) in Diet Sugar Drink is much lower than the regular soft drinks.
