INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT)
27. You have been invited by a reputed IT magazine to write an article that would present three key differences that distinguish fog devices from cloud servers. Describe the three differences.
Title of the article - fog services vs cloud computing
Introduction - cloud computing is the use of remote servers on the Internet to store, manage and process data rather than local sercers. Whereas, fog computing is a paradigm that extends cloud computing and services to the edge of the network. Fog provides data, compute, storage and application services to users.
5 major Difference between fog services and cloud computing -
1. Fog services are distributed decentralised system it means it consists of millions of small nodes located near client devices whereas, cloud computing is a centralised system it means it consists of large data centres that can be located around the world from client devices.
2. Fog is a kind of cloud that works at lower level that touches the ground. Whereas, cloud computing is a kind of cloud that works at higher level it can form at many different altitudes.
3. Fog services have higher security than cloud computing due to its distributed architecture.
4. Fog computing reduces amount of data sent to cloud computer. Whereas, cloud computing does not provide any reduction in data while sending or transforming data.
5. Fog services uses various protocols and standards so the risk of collapse is much lower whereas, Cloud computing can collapse without an internet connection.
Conclusion - in the above article, i have mentioned about fogging and cloud computing and their differences. Moreover these two computing services plays an important role in digital world by gathering information and managing the data across globe.
