The scientific method forms the basis of scientific investigation and discovery. Describe an example to demonstrate the process of scientific inquiry and the key steps involved.
Explain the main criteria for determining which medical breakthroughs were in the top 10 of all time. Do you feel that these criteria are sufficient in making this determination and do you feel that there were any great discoveries left off the list?
Science is the methodology- the methodology to reach the truth. This methodology consists hypothesis, testing, principle (theory) and finally application of theory for mankind. Hypothesis is the logical guess to explain some phenomenon. Testing is the experiments to test the hypothesis. If hypothesis is rong, change it. If hypothesis is right test is again and again and finally it become theory known as principle. This theory must has power to explain new unexplained phenomenon. Finally use this principle as a technology for the benifit of mankind.
Gravity is an example of scientific investigation and discovery. Sir Newton was under the apple's tree. Apple falled down on his head. He made a hypothesis that two body attract each other. Then he test this hypothesis to explain planetry motion. He became sucessful to expalin the motion of planet. Soon it became Newton's universal law (principle) of gravitational. Sir Einstein realized some modification in the theory of gravity and he expained gravity not as attraction force but as geometrical phenomenon that gravity is due to curvature create by massive object on the 4 dimensional sheet of spacetime. He explained new phenomenon. This hypothesis was tested lot of time and currenty known as General Relativity. Google map depends on general relativity for exact location. This the application of general relativity for mankind.
Gregor Mendel, through his work on pea plants,discovered the fundamental laws of inheritance. This was the medical breakthrough. It enhances our knowlege of genetics and genetical disorder.
Yes there is something left to discover and that is to understand the more detail of mutation and to overcome from mutation to fight against cancer.
